Jaime is a Pokémon fan since its release, a proud nerd at heart, and someone who thrives on creativity and competition. At 35, I’ve made it my mission to tackle the Pokémon Trading Card Game at the highest level, always looking for new ways to outplay the competition.

What sets me apart is my love for thinking outside the box. I enjoy experimenting with unconventional strategies, finding hidden synergies, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the game. As one of Pokémon’s well-known professors, he’s especially passionate about the Eternal format, preserving and exploring the rich history of the game. Whether he’s coaching, creating content, or competing, JustInBasil is always working to elevate the game and those who play it.

Ryan Dobberstine is a 28-year-old Stage 1 Professor for the Pokémon TCG and a proud member of Turn 1 Pass. A dedicated casual-competitive player, Ryan began collecting during the NEO era and started playing competitively with the Diamond & Pearl Base Set in 2007.

Ryan has a strong passion for retro formats, particularly 2004 (Team Magma’s Groudon), 2009 (Platinum Arceus decks), and 2010 (LuxChomp meta). He also enjoys alternative formats, especially GLC (Gym Leader Challenge) and Eternal Format, where he has proven to be a dominant force—securing 23 Eternal Format tournament wins, including both NAIC 2024 tournaments in New Orleans, Louisiana.

As a dedicated deck tester, Ryan constantly works on refining strategies for standard and post-rotation play. His ultimate goal is to reach Day 2 at a major event and eventually compete at the Pokémon World Championships—or support a testing partner on their journey to Worlds.

As a Turn 1 Pass team member, Ryan brings his expertise in alternative formats, deep game knowledge, and competitive testing to help elevate both himself and his teammates.

 As the newest member of Turn 1 Pass, Dehl brings a unique blend of creativity and competitive expertise to the team. At 35 years old, he has established himself as both a fierce player and a dedicated Pokémon Professor, using his deep understanding of the game to craft innovative strategies that push the boundaries of competitive play.

With a passion for teaching and sharing knowledge, Dehl enjoys helping players refine their skills while exploring unconventional deck ideas. Whether it's mastering the meta or uncovering hidden potential in overlooked cards, he thrives on the challenge of strategic deck-building and high-level competition. His presence in Turn 1 Pass strengthens the team's mission of not only competing at the top but also fostering a deeper understanding of the Pokémon Trading Card Game for players of all levels.
